Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using San Ramon Residents Directory. Use of the pages means the terms are accepted; anyone who does not accept them should stop using the service.

1. The Service Provided

San Ramon Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections relating to San Ramon and California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the City of San Ramon, Contra Costa County, any state office, court, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages only for lawful, responsible purposes. Neither the service nor information reached through it may be used to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make any decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither these pages nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report, and neither may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Outside Services

Government portals and third-party providers, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. San Ramon Residents Directory does not control their content, uptime, charges, or data handling.

5. No Warranty

The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. No promise is made that a page is accurate, complete, current, or error-free, or that an outside portal will remain available or return the expected result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of these pages or an external resource, including a decision based on a record reached through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the service or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is allowed; republishing complete pages or copying the content systematically is not.

9. Term Updates

A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continued use after the revision is posted signifies acceptance of the new terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, at the operator’s discretion and without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. References to public-record access are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000–7931.000; that statute governs the public agency holding a record, not this private reference service.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions
